Educational Meeting Program

Please join us for our February educational meeting on Thursday February 25, 2010 at the Warwick Denver Hotel!

We are joining our colleagues from Hospitality Human Resources Association (HHRA) for an update on Colorado and Employment Law and hot topics including:
*New (lower!) minimum wage overview: unique issues with tipped employees

*Wage and hour: 2010 danger zone

*State immigration laws: audits and enforcement

*Labor and employment law litigation trends

*Related proposed legislation for 2010, state and federal

 

Our Guest Speaker

Our guest speaker is Peter Wingate, PH.D., the Labor Standards Administrator for the Colorado Division of Labor, where he administers and enforces Colorado wage and hour, immigration, youth, and union laws.

Dr. Wingate has extensive experience in providing expert witness services and support in employment law, and is the author of the Division’s Advisory Bulletins and Resource Guide. He is recognized for his publications in such outlets as: Human Performance, Law and Human Behavior, Research in Personnel and Human Resources Management, and Employment Discrimination Litigation: Behavioral, Quantitative, and Legal Perspectives.

Dr. Wingate received his doctorate in industrial/organizational psychology from Colorado State University, holds a master’s degree in clinical psychology from San Diego State University, and obtained his bachelor’s degree in economics and psychology from Colby College.

Meeting Reservations:
Please make your reservations for any meeting or event by clicking on the "RSVP" links in the monthly newsletter, on the web-site or by emailing or calling Jennifer Jennings. We need your response by Monday the week of the function. As we all know, we must give the hosting property a guarantee reservation count by 3:00 pm that Monday. The guaranteed reservation count we give the property is the amount we will be charged, and therefore we must bill members if they are not able to attend a function and do not cancel by 12 Noon on Monday the week of the meeting or event.
